Description

The Huawei CloudEngine S6730-H24X6C is an enterprise-class aggregation switch from Huawei’s S6730-H series, designed for networks requiring high-density 10GbE access and 40/100GbE uplinks. Its combination of optical 10GE ports and high-speed QSFP28 interfaces makes it well suited for campus core and aggregation layers, data centers, government networks, universities, and other bandwidth-intensive environments.

The switch provides 24 × 10GE SFP+ ports for high-speed server, access-switch, storage, and network aggregation connections. It also features 6 × QSFP28 ports, which support 40GE by default and can be upgraded to 100GE through the appropriate RTU/license. This gives the platform substantial uplink scalability for modern high-bandwidth networks.

The S6730-H24X6C delivers up to 1.68 Tbit/s switching capacity in its base specification, with the system architecture supporting up to 2.4 Tbit/s, while forwarding performance reaches approximately 490 Mpps. These capabilities make it suitable for demanding aggregation and core-network workloads.

The platform supports advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, IPv4/IPv6 routing, QoS, multicast, link aggregation, and comprehensive network security. It also supports VXLAN Layer 2/Layer 3 gateways and BGP-EVPN, enabling network virtualization and scalable overlay architectures.

For enterprise wireless environments, the S6730-H series can provide integrated WLAN management capabilities for up to approximately 1,024 access points, allowing wired and wireless infrastructure to be managed within a unified network architecture. Huawei also provides telemetry and integration with CampusInsight for intelligent network monitoring and troubleshooting.

The switch uses a compact 1U rack-mountable chassis measuring approximately 43.6 × 442 × 420 mm. It supports dual pluggable power modules with 1+1 power backup, providing improved availability for enterprise and data-center deployments. The supported power modules include 600 W AC and 1000 W DC options.
