The Huawei NetEngine AR6300-S is a high-performance enterprise modular router designed for headquarters, large branches, campus networks, and high-bandwidth enterprise WAN environments. It combines routing, switching, VPN, security, MPLS, SD-WAN, and wireless access capabilities in a scalable platform, with 14 × 10GE optical WAN ports and 10 × Gigabit Ethernet ports that can be configured for LAN connectivity. Description
The Huawei NetEngine AR6300-S is an enterprise-class modular router from the NetEngine AR6000-S series, designed primarily for enterprise headquarters and large branch offices. It uses a high-performance CPU/NP forwarding architecture to support demanding multi-service enterprise networks.
The router provides 14 × 10GE optical interfaces, compatible with GE optical connectivity, together with 10 × GE RJ45 electrical interfaces. Huawei allows the fixed WAN interfaces to be configured as LAN interfaces, providing considerable flexibility when designing enterprise WAN and campus networks.
The AR6300-S integrates multiple networking functions into a single platform, including routing, switching, VPN, security, MPLS, and SD-WAN. This enables organizations to consolidate WAN connectivity, security, and network services without requiring separate appliances for every function.
For expansion, the router includes 4 SIC slots, while supporting up to 8 WSIC slots and 6 XSIC slots depending on the chassis configuration. This modular architecture allows additional network interfaces and service modules to be installed as connectivity requirements evolve.
The AR6300-S also supports 5G-SIC service cards, allowing 5G connectivity to be integrated into enterprise WAN deployments. Huawei’s NetEngine AR platform supports 5G links as either primary WAN connections or backup links for wired connectivity.
The platform provides integrated wireless access controller functionality, supporting management of up to 128 wireless access points, with four APs included without additional licensing according to Huawei’s published specifications.
The system is equipped with an ARM64 16-core processor, 8 GB memory, and 2 GB flash. It also provides an RJ45 console interface and USB connectivity for administration and maintenance.
