Description

The Juniper SRX300 is an enterprise-grade security gateway / next-generation firewall from the SRX300 family. It is designed to consolidate routing, switching, WAN connectivity, VPN, and security functions into a single compact device, making it particularly suitable for small branch and retail-office deployments.

The SRX300 provides eight total 1GbE interfaces, consisting of six RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two 1GbE SFP ports. Two of the Gigabit Ethernet ports support MACsec, providing additional protection for Ethernet traffic. The platform also includes an RJ45 console port, Mini-USB console connectivity, and a USB 3.0 Type-A port.

Security performance is rated at up to 1.9 Gbps stateful firewall throughput with 1518-byte packets. IPsec VPN performance reaches up to 336 Mbps with 1400-byte packets, while Juniper specifies 200 Mbps recommended IPS performance. The appliance supports up to 64,000 concurrent sessions, making it appropriate for smaller distributed sites requiring integrated security and WAN services.

The SRX300 runs Junos OS and supports extensive routing functionality, including static routing, RIP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, IPv4/IPv6, multicast, policy-based routing, and ECMP. It also supports MPLS, L3 VPN, VPLS, and other advanced networking technologies.

For security, the platform supports stateful and stateless firewall policies, zone-based security, DDoS protection, NAT, IPsec VPN, intrusion prevention, application visibility and control, URL filtering, antivirus, antispam, and advanced threat-prevention services. Some advanced threat and content-security capabilities require applicable security subscriptions.

The appliance features 4 GB RAM and 8 GB flash storage and uses a fanless convection-cooled desktop chassis, making it suitable for environments where low acoustic noise is important. It measures approximately 320.6 × 35.1 × 193.0 mm and weighs approximately 1.99 kg including the power supply.
