Description
The Cisco ASA5525-K9 refers to the Cisco ASA 5525-X Security Appliance, part of Cisco’s ASA 5500-X Series of enterprise security appliances. It is designed to provide comprehensive protection at the network perimeter while supporting secure connectivity between enterprise locations, remote users, and external networks.
The ASA 5525-X combines stateful firewall, VPN, routing, and security services into a single platform. It is suitable for organizations requiring a dedicated firewall capable of protecting corporate networks, DMZ environments, branch offices, and Internet gateways.
The appliance provides eight integrated Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, which can be configured for different network security zones such as inside, outside, DMZ, management, and dedicated service networks. The platform’s interface flexibility allows it to be deployed in a variety of enterprise network architectures.
The ASA 5525-X operates with Cisco ASA Software, providing core firewall functions including access-control policies, stateful inspection, NAT/PAT, routing, IPv4/IPv6 support, and IPsec and SSL VPN capabilities.
With appropriate Cisco FirePOWER Services licensing and software, the ASA 5525-X can provide advanced next-generation security features including application visibility and control, intrusion prevention, URL filtering, malware protection, and advanced threat detection.
The appliance supports high-availability Active/Standby configurations, allowing two compatible ASA appliances to operate as a redundant firewall pair and improve network availability.
Its 1U rack-mount chassis makes the ASA 5525-X suitable for enterprise server rooms, network cabinets, and data-center environments.
