Description

The Huawei S5720-28P-LI-AC is an enterprise access switch designed to provide reliable Gigabit Ethernet connectivity in a compact 1U chassis. Despite the “P” designation, this particular 28P-LI-AC model is not a PoE switch; it provides standard Ethernet connectivity without delivering power over the network ports.

The switch provides 24 × 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 Ethernet ports, allowing desktop computers, printers, IP phones, wireless access points, servers, cameras, and other network devices to connect at Gigabit speeds. It also includes 4 × 1000BASE-X SFP ports for fiber-optic uplinks to aggregation switches, core networks, or other network infrastructure.

The S5720-28P-LI-AC supports a broad range of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking functions, including VLANs, VLAN mapping, link aggregation, spanning-tree protocols, IPv4/IPv6 functionality, multicast, QoS, and access control. It supports up to 4,000 VLANs, making it suitable for segmented enterprise networks with multiple departments, applications, or security zones.

The switch also supports stacking, allowing compatible switches to be managed as a logical switching system. This can simplify network administration and provide greater scalability for growing enterprise and campus networks.

For reliability and low-noise environments, the S5720-28P-LI-AC uses a fanless natural-cooling design. Its compact chassis measures approximately 442 × 220 × 43.6 mm and uses an AC power supply supporting 100–240V AC. Huawei’s published specifications list maximum power consumption at approximately 20.2W under full throughput.
