Description

The Cisco Firepower 2130 is part of Cisco’s Firepower 2100 Series Next-Generation Firewalls, designed to provide high-performance network security for medium and large enterprise environments.

The FPR2130-NGFW-K9 combines dedicated firewall hardware with Cisco’s security software architecture to provide comprehensive protection against network-based and application-level threats. The platform can operate using Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) or Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) software, depending on the deployment and software configuration.

The appliance provides fixed Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, together with expansion capabilities through network modules. This allows the Firepower 2130 to support high-speed connections between enterprise LAN, WAN, data-center, Internet, and security zones.

With Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense, the Firepower 2130 provides advanced security capabilities including stateful firewalling, application visibility and control, intrusion prevention (IPS), URL filtering, malware protection, and advanced threat intelligence. These functions can be centrally managed through Cisco’s security-management platforms.

The Firepower 2130 is built around Cisco’s Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) architecture and is designed to inspect large volumes of network traffic while maintaining security policy enforcement. Its architecture is particularly appropriate for enterprise environments where security inspection must be combined with high-speed WAN or data-center connectivity.

The platform supports site-to-site and remote-access VPN, network address translation, access control policies, routing, high availability, and multiple security zones.

The Firepower 2130 uses a compact 1U rack-mount chassis, making it suitable for standard data-center racks and enterprise network cabinets.
