Description

The Huawei FusionServer 2488H V7 is a high-performance 2U four-socket rack server engineered for organizations requiring exceptional compute density and memory scalability within a compact data-center footprint. Huawei positions the platform for Internet Data Centers, cloud computing, enterprise applications, and telecommunications environments.

The server supports two or four 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, with processors offering up to 60 cores and up to 350W TDP per CPU. Its four-socket architecture provides substantial processing capacity for highly parallel workloads, large databases, virtualization, and high-performance computing.

For memory-intensive workloads, the 2488H V7 provides 64 DDR5 DIMM slots, supporting high-capacity configurations of up to 24 TB according to the platform’s published specifications. This makes it particularly suitable for in-memory databases, large virtualized environments, and analytics applications.

Storage configurations include hot-swappable 2.5-inch SAS/SATA drives, with configurations supporting up to 25 front-mounted 2.5-inch drives. The platform can also combine four 2.5-inch SAS/SATA drives with eight NVMe SSDs for high-performance storage workloads. Two M.2 SSDs are supported for flash storage and can use hardware RAID.

The server provides PCIe 5.0 expansion, allowing high-bandwidth connectivity for networking, storage controllers, accelerators, and other enterprise expansion hardware. It supports up to 10 PCIe slots, including one FlexIO slot dedicated to an OCP 3.0 network adapter and nine standard PCIe slots.

For networking, the platform supports an OCP 3.0 NIC with hot-swap capability, while its PCIe architecture enables additional high-speed network adapters. Huawei also highlights support for 400 Gbit/s NIC interconnection in supported configurations.

The 2488H V7 is designed for high availability and continuous operation. It incorporates six hot-swappable counter-rotating fans in N+1 redundancy and supports 900W, 1200W, 1500W, 2000W, and 3000W Platinum/Titanium hot-swappable power supplies with 1+1 redundancy.

Storage protection is provided through optional hardware RAID supporting RAID 0, 1, 10, 1E, 5, 50, 6, and 60, with supercapacitor-backed cache protection. Additional RAID functions include RAID-level migration, drive roaming, self-diagnostics, and remote web-based configuration.

System administration is handled through the integrated iBMC management controller, which provides remote monitoring, diagnostics, configuration, security hardening, and out-of-band management. Supported interfaces include Redfish, SNMP, and IPMI 2.0, with HTML5/VNC-based remote KVM.
