Description
The Cisco Catalyst WS-C3650-24PS-L is part of the Cisco Catalyst 3650 Series, an enterprise-class fixed-configuration switching platform designed to provide secure and reliable connectivity for modern campus and business networks.
The switch provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports with IEEE 802.3at PoE+, allowing compatible endpoints to receive both data connectivity and electrical power through a single Ethernet cable. With up to 30W per PoE+ port, the switch can power devices such as IP phones, wireless access points, IP cameras, and IoT devices.
For network uplinks, the WS-C3650-24PS-L provides 4 × 1 Gigabit SFP interfaces. These ports can be used for fiber connections to aggregation, distribution, or core switches, providing flexible uplink options for enterprise network architectures.
The switch operates on Cisco IOS XE, supporting enterprise Layer 2 switching and software-dependent Layer 3 capabilities. Supported technologies include VLANs, 802.1Q trunking, STP/RSTP/MST, EtherChannel, IPv4/IPv6, QoS, multicast, and network security features.
The Catalyst 3650 platform supports StackWise-160, allowing compatible switches to be interconnected and managed as one logical switching system. StackWise-160 provides up to 160 Gbps of stacking bandwidth, helping improve scalability and simplify administration.
The Catalyst 3650 platform also incorporates wired and wireless convergence capabilities, allowing the switch to provide integrated wireless management functionality when configured with the appropriate software and licensing.
Security features include 802.1X authentication, port security, DHCP snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, IP Source Guard, ACLs, and Cisco TrustSec, helping protect connected endpoints and enforce network access policies.
