Description
The Huawei FusionServer E9000 is an enterprise-class blade server platform that integrates computing, storage, networking, power, cooling, and management into a modular chassis. Its converged architecture is designed to provide high computing density while simplifying infrastructure deployment and management.
The E9000 chassis occupies 12U of standard rack space and provides 16 half-width blade slots or 8 full-width slots. It supports flexible combinations of single-slot, dual-slot, half-width, and full-width blade servers, allowing organizations to tailor the chassis to different workloads.
The platform supports multiple generations of high-performance Intel processor-based blades, including configurations based on Intel Xeon E5-2600 processors. Huawei also offered specialized blade configurations for different requirements, including two-socket and four-socket computing nodes.
Networking is integrated directly into the chassis architecture through modular switch bays. Depending on the installed switch modules, the E9000 can support Gigabit Ethernet, 10Gb Ethernet, Fibre Channel, FCoE, and InfiniBand connectivity. Huawei documentation specifies up to 4 switch-module slots and a chassis switching capacity of up to 5.76 Tbit/s for the documented configuration.
The E9000 is designed for high availability. The chassis supports up to six hot-swappable 3000W AC or 2500W DC power supplies, with N+N and N+M redundancy, as well as up to 14 hot-swappable fan modules with N+1 redundancy.
Centralized management is provided through MM910 management modules, with support for IPMI 2.0, CLI, SNMP, and web-based management interfaces. This enables administrators to monitor, configure, and manage blade infrastructure from a centralized platform.
