Description

The Huawei FusionServer 5288 V7 is a new-generation 4U two-socket rack server engineered for organizations that require substantial storage capacity alongside enterprise computing performance. Its large 4U chassis is optimized for storage-intensive environments while maintaining flexible CPU, memory, networking, and expansion capabilities.

The server supports one or two 4th or 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, with supported CPUs offering up to 385W TDP per processor. This provides the processing capacity required for virtualization, distributed storage, cloud infrastructure, big-data processing, enterprise applications, and other demanding workloads.

For memory, the 5288 V7 provides 32 DDR5 DIMM slots, with memory speeds of up to 5600 MT/s. This allows organizations to configure the system for memory-intensive applications, virtualized environments, databases, and data-processing workloads.

Storage is the key strength of the 5288 V7. The platform supports up to 44 × 3.5-inch SAS/SATA drives together with 4 × NVMe SSDs in supported configurations. It can also be configured with four 2.5-inch SAS/SATA drives or SSDs. Two M.2 SSDs are available for flash storage, providing additional flexibility for operating-system or boot-drive deployments.

The server supports multiple RAID levels, including RAID 0, 1, 10, 1E, 5, 50, 6, and 60. Optional supercapacitor-backed cache protection helps protect cached data during power failures, while RAID migration, drive roaming, self-diagnostics, and remote configuration simplify storage administration.

For networking and expansion, the platform supports OCP 3.0 network adapters through two FlexIO slots and provides PCIe 5.0 expansion. The platform supports up to 10 PCIe expansion slots, allowing installation of high-speed network adapters, storage controllers, Fibre Channel adapters, accelerators, and other enterprise hardware.

The 5288 V7 can also support up to eight single-width GPU cards in supported configurations, allowing the server to be adapted for accelerated analytics, AI inference, visualization, and other GPU-enabled workloads.

For high availability, the server uses 6 or 8 hot-swappable counter-rotating fans with N+1 redundancy and supports 900W, 1200W, 1500W, 2000W, and 3000W Platinum/Titanium hot-swappable power supplies with 1+1 redundancy.

System management is provided through Huawei’s integrated iBMC controller, which includes a dedicated management Ethernet port and supports Redfish, SNMP, and IPMI 2.0. HTML5/VNC-based remote KVM and out-of-band monitoring, diagnostics, configuration, and remote-control functions are supported.
