Description

The APC SMX2200HV Smart-UPS X provides dependable protection against power interruptions, voltage fluctuations, and other electrical disturbances. With a rated capacity of 2200VA / 1980W, it is designed to support demanding IT equipment while maintaining stable power during utility disturbances.

The unit uses line-interactive technology with pure sine wave output, making it suitable for servers, storage equipment, networking devices, and other sensitive electronic loads. The front LCD interface provides convenient access to UPS operating and configuration information.

A major advantage of the SMX2200HV is its short-depth 4U chassis, which provides additional space behind the UPS for cable management compared with deeper rack-mounted UPS designs. The chassis can be configured for either rack or tower installation, providing flexibility for server rooms, network closets, and equipment rooms. The optional AP9625 rail kit is available separately for rack installation.

The UPS supports a user-selectable high-voltage range from 200V to 240V, making it suitable for electrical environments using different high-voltage configurations. Schneider Electric documentation identifies 208V and 230V input configurations and selectable 200–240V operation.

The SMX2200HV also supports extended runtime through connection of up to 10 external SMX120BP battery packs. This allows organizations to increase battery runtime for critical systems where longer backup periods are required.

For centralized management and graceful system shutdown, the UPS supports communication through USB or serial connections and PowerChute Serial Shutdown software. A SmartSlot is also available for compatible APC management accessories.

Compatibility Note

SMX2200HV should not be confused with SMX2200RMHV2U. Both are 2200VA Smart-UPS X models, but the SMX2200HV is the 4U short-depth rack/tower convertible model, while the SMX2200RMHV2U is a 2U rack/tower model with a different outlet configuration.

Also, SMX2200HVNC is a related version with a preinstalled network management card; the standard SMX2200HV has SmartSlot capability but should not be advertised as including the network card unless the the actual unit is the NC version.
